The newest rendition of the Fate series, Fate/Apocrypha takes place in a parallel world to Fate/staynight, where the Grail mysteriously disappears from Fuyuki City after the Third Holy Grail War.\n\nMany years have passed since the Grail’s disappearance, and the world hasn’t experienced a Holy War. However, this seemingly peaceful time comes to a halt when the Yggdmillennia – a family of magi – openly declare their secession from the Mage’s Association. On top of that, they’re in possession of the Grail. To recover the Grail, the Association sends 50 magi to retrieve it. However, all but one meet an untimely end at the hands of a mysterious servant.\n\nThe only surviving magus manages to activate the reserve system of the Greater Grail, allowing for the summoning of 14 servants. With each side holding seven servants, the world once again will bear witness of the Holy Grail War. Zero has raised the bar for fantasy action anime including in its latest adaptation, Fate/Apocrypha. However, the Apocrypha trailer looks like it will come pretty close thanks to its fighting sequences and dark plot. (

I will update this review as the series progresses, though as it stands I can recommend this anime for people who just want to some ". - MyAnimeList (Tiny_Edward)

There's a lack of care about what is going to happen. Now, perhaps I should have read the source material? However, this adaptation is nice for someone who knows fate enough to have the basics down. If you think it is entertaining, then stay with it. After five episodes, I just can't feel a reason to watch servant Ruler and Priest Kotomine Shiro any longer. - Anime-Planet (Helbaworshipper)
