The story is set in Shanghai in 1931, when the Imperial Japanese Army has been dispatched to mainland China due to the relatively recent First Sino-Japanese War, Russo-Japanese War, and World War I. The anime is enjoyable on its own, but having the background knowledge of what's going on can enhance the entire experience of the anime being watched. Overall: So overall, i give it a 6 cus although the fight scenes and the supernatural abilities are entertaining, the dialog about war and politic stuff doesnt interest me n i would skip most of the part about it.
